The Pops-in-Law drinks Pabst Genuine Draft (even copied the gold/black colors). Of course never thought he was 'counter-culture', just a connossieur of cheap beer. Now Stroh's...there is a name I haven't heard in a long time, brings back road trips to Wisconsin Dells.

PBR...wow, the older generation loves that brew. I would compare the Stroh and PBR to the Keystone and Natural Light of today. All cheap and relatively poor tasting brews.

If I had my choice from the 4 I would tip Keystone as the winner.

If I may speak for Pettyfog -- the other oldtimer on this site -- what the heck do 14-year-olds know about beer in the first place?

Oh no; here they come! Gyrating fruit!

Ummmm.... my favorite brews are TYPICALLY, Sam Adams {darker variety} and Dos Equis. Which I dont believe are exactly thin beers
At the end, I rejected Stroh's as well. It was more like Milwaukee's Best than Best was like Stroh's.

And the PBR I drank in SoCal had no similarity to either you mentioned, as I recall them.
Check wiki on the story of both Stroh's and Pabst Blue Ribbon...

First beer ever was a PBR lifted from my uncle. I actually had someone come up to me a few years back and ask me why I was drinking a PBR. Like it was affecting the time they were having. Anybody for a Ballantine? Or even better was the Schaefer 16 ouncers we got from my buddies dad. We had to save the bottles to put back because they were returnables. Too funny.
