Caleb Porter and Fulham

Grant Wahl has written an article about Caleb Porter for Sports Illustrated. Porter took annual trips to Europe to study the world's top clubs - Fulham was one of them, but of course it was back in the good ole days not the dark ages of Jol's reign.

Man, I'd take a flyer on that guy at Fulham. But not mid-season. If we stay up, or not, I'd love an offer thrown his way. I think he'd be fearless, in that, Fulham would shoot back up the table, or alternatively, flame out in spectacular fashion (which is already taking place, so come on now...)

 

I really like Porter. Great coach. I still can't believe that the Columbus Crew let him out of their back yard while they kept their coach who was taking the team on a steady five year decline.

The support at Craven Cottage is not good enough for Porter. Would be a huge step down

 

Timing. Hunt loyalty then vs new owner ambition now. Crap happens. Not saying it WOULD have happened but chances pretty much nil the way things were. Friedel would have had a better chance.
