    it's been in the gossip for a while -- sort of a senior partner to Alan Shearer. He actually got him into 2nd place in the Prem the last time he was in charge.

    But, hey; it's Newkie. If they lose a couple of matches, they'll fire him and hire Bruce Arena.

    If anyone can inspire the Geordies it is Keegan. Congrats to him. It will be good to see him back in teh prem.

    Side Note:

    Anyone else read that Cookie stepped down as manager of Real Sociedad. Differences with the new president I believe.

    also read that he might possibly link up w/ Keegan at Newcastle...or there is also an opening as an assitant for Wales
