Chris Smalling at ManU

As a former Fulham lad that we made a nice wad of cash off, I thought I'd report on how Smalling is doing.

He played the full 90 minutes in the Celtic-ManU friendly in Toronto last night. Mostly, he played decently well, though his ego obviously hasn't caught up to the fact that he's playing for ManU (deferring a bit too much to others at times). He still has a problem when players get goal-side on him (remember Jozy and the Hull City game last year?) and gave up a penalty on Ledley for Celtic's only goal but showed enough that, given Rio's health and Vidic's impending departure, I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a dozen or more league games under his belt this season.
