So why is the Golden Lion our pub then and not 8 Bells? Taking the tube over and exiting Putney Bridge one would expect to stop off at 8 Bells before heading through Bishop's Park and over to the Cottage, but apparently that's a visitor's spot.

I hit the Lion after yesterday's match but could only stay for 2 minutes as it was a sauna in there.

    And where's the Bricklayers?

Why didn't you go out the back to the huge Garden in the Golden Lion? It was still warm and definitely plenty of room.

Regarding 8 Bells, it used to be a Fulham pub, a long, long time ago but once the Fulham owner sold it, it became an 'away' pub out of spite I think. I don't care for that place anywho...much nice pubs around.

Are you permanently in London now? I can't remember.

    Aha!

Ah, so there's a garden at the GL! Now we're talking.

I do like the 8 bells though: albeit very crowded, there's a big bar and plenty of outdoor drinking to be had.

Not permanently in London, still doing the cross-the-pond commute. A real NYLON.
