    Hello all,

If you were to recommend your 3 favorite football websites (besides fulhamusa.com of course!) which would they be? I am trying to branch out some from bigsoccer, espn, foxsports etc etc, and would love to hear about some places I'm not familiar with.

    Thanks!

First: A little Administrative nit-picking or 'tub-thumping' as it were.

If summa you guys with your own blogs would cross-post YOUR FOOTY CONTENT to here, this site would be a lot better than it is... maybe even get back to where it was when Tom and Don were writing regularly for the front page. I would renew my interest in helping build content, that's for sure.
Lemme elucidate! Mike is carrying pretty much the full load at present. He's got other things to do, and posting too much variety of content and viewpoint might be a conflict of interest with his job.

Speaking for myself, I would have no problem in linking to your respective blogs in the articles. There would, of course, be the occasional 'not necessarily the view of FUSA' disclaimer, but hey....

Well, Franek aint gonna care for this too much but one of the best all-round sites for the US centric fan is Goal.com. It addresses enough of the high profile global footy news to always come up high in a google search on given subject or event.

Coming after would be, IMO, Yanks Abroad and USSOCCER.com

To be really 'in the know', though, it's impossible to get all-the skinny' level of knowledge from any 'big site' without knowing what you're looking for in the first place.
OR you could simply 'Ask Don'.

The BBC site is also a good source for football period.

There are several Fulham-centric sites that are worthwhile and, as Gentle Jim has indicated, SteveM19, DawgtheDon, Richardkirkando, timmyg and others all have Fulham-related blogs. They, like me, list their blogs as part of their signature [mine is NOT a football blog], but there's no portion on the home page to list all member blogs. Perhaps when Jim isn't so hammered with everything else in the universe that might happen.

As to content -- Jim, I'm pm'ing you very soon.

RobG4, sorry that so much of the last two responses have gone "around you."

Nice'a the geezer to tell me what I should do...

I'm not averse, though, to put up yet ANOTHER left sidebar category for member links.
It would be under FulhamUSA Features and prolly separate non-footy from 'usually footy' by content. So if you want that, PM me.

If there's enough interest I'll do it. Please though, if your site is inactive or you only post rarely - like a couple times a year, dont include it.

And clarifying again, not asking the members {example Timmy G} to crosspost every post. Just the ones you feel would be of enough interest for US. And it cant hurt traffic to your sites either. Like I said I could put your link right in the article notes.

My favorite non-Fulham site is Dunord. It is a blog run by Bruce McQuire and his postings are usually done each weeknight. If you are looking for news it feels a bit like you are a day behind but his links to soocer stories and sources is unmatched in my opinion. I find a lot of editorial gems I would otherwise miss.

For breaking US soccer news I find that Soccer by Ives and Steven Goff tend to be ahead of the curve.

My favorite Fulham sites outside of FulhamUSA are Friends of Fulham and Craven Cottage Newsround

I get almost all my football news from SkySports. Why? The information is always there and they have video... also stuff that goes beyond just the reporting. Sunday supplement, Soccer AM, Fan Zone, etc...

The information is fairly balanced (a few exceptions of course), and you avoid the personal bias and efforts to be clever that you find in blogs and forums (even tho I enjoy blogs and forums occasionally).

Oh - the other thing I like is how each club has a page with all the news segregated for that club. I check Fulham and Tottenham and I take a quick glance at the main page just to see if there is anything interesting.

But unlike other sites - you dont have to spend your time filtering thru all the big 4 clutter.

This was something I've always been keen on and think it would help both FUSA and the bloggers site.

Not sure if this is how 'fog was seeing it but I would be happy to put any FFC relation blog story on the front page, including just the intro to two/three paragraphs and then a link to the blog to 'read more'. or simply the whole blog and a link reference to the blog.

I'm just keen on getting Fulham blogs and more to the point, Fulham/American blogs more exposure to the local Fulham/English audience. I think there are alot of Fulham American blogs that are hidden out there.

Sure can be done either way, full article or summary with link to full. We're asking, not demanding.

And links can be both to blog index and to specific post.

    Win-win, no?

And it can be remotely Fulham related, to boot. We could'a had something on McBride's surgery. We could'a had several on Dempsey Confed Cup performance. We could even had one or two on Donovan's recent resurgence.

Certainly we wouldnt be the only ones speculating/touting him to Woy as a result. Already several of those who have no connections to FFC.

    FULHAM BLOGS/SITES (besides FulhamUSA.com & my blog)

http://www.hammyend.com - Dan does a great job with his blog. He's always quick to report transfer rumors.

http://cravencottagenewsround.wordpress.com - Even though I get the feeling Claude dislikes me, I visit his blog. He covers the club very well plus he'll post random interesting things.

http://www.fulhamweb.com - Updated daily. Sometimes news will appear here before it appears on the official website.

    http://fulham.theoffside.com - Timmy does a great job.

    OTHER BLOGS/SITES

http://www.matchfitusa.com - Covers the U.S. Men's National Team mainly. They also have a great podcast.

http://www.majorleaguesoccertalk.com - MLS posts. They also cover the USMNT

http://www.epltalk.com - Same people who own MLS Talk. Although they do seem to nut hug the "Big 4" a bit too much.

http://www.skysports.com - Yeah, a corporate site, but I still find it very useful. Plus as a rugby fan, I can follow both sports.

http://soucieonsoccer.wordpress.com - This blog is starting to become popular. He covers MLS & USMNT mainly.

As for the suggestion to add user blogs to the side bar, its a nice idea. Most of us link FulhamUSA.com anyways.
