    1) Love the slap by Ethuhu to his baby brother before the game started. Had no idea there were family ties going on today.

    2) MOTHEREFFIN DUECE!!!

    3) Ooooooh Bobby Zamora. I really do love this guy. He may not score the goals, but his play otherwise is a pleasure to watch.

I think overall we played well. Could definitely forget the first half, but the second half was one of beauty. We made the best of our chances and pressured well.

Feeling real good today. What a great continuation of an already good day.

"He scores with his left, he scores with his right..."

Well today, our boy Clint Dempsey did just that. Definitely a tale of two halves. Citeh were coming off the midweek UEFA match and with a suspect back four, were ripe to be had if put under pressure. Unfortunately, in the first half, we were content to play paddy-cake in front of them and not put them under pressure.

Kudos to Roy and the boys for changing that in the 2nd half. Only took 14 minutes to take the lead. Shame for Brede missing that sitter on the corner, would have liked to have seen him get a goal. Good game by Bobby. The beef with him usually is his poor distribution after winning the 50/50. Not today. Wicked little curling shot from Etuhu in his return home....that was a nice surprise. The only one I'd criticize for their play was Davies, whose passing was wretched.

6 goals and 2 wins in the last two road trips....after just 3 road goals in the first 14. That's now 3 wins in the last 4 matches. Well done you Whites!!

So I needed sleep in today badly, but I still made an effort to get up for this game, but didn't wake up until halftime.

I saw the score was 1-0 in Man City's favor when I decided to go back to bed to catch up on sleep.

    D'oh.

Here are some highlights for those idiots that missed the game/second half like myself.

modesty almost forbade me from pointing out that I predicted the score in the first post on this thread, but I get so little right these days, I decided to say "to 'ell with modesty."

Quickdraw, I fully agree with you about Zamora. He had a great match today.

    Well how about that!

I didn't make it out to a bar in DC to watch (massive hangover). Listened to GJ the first half, but after that had to check out of the hotel and went to brunch with a friend rather than sitting in a Starbucks or something by myself, and imagine my surprise when I checked the score while waiting for my bus back to NY! Some nice goals all around, too.

Hooray for Fulham, hooray for Clint, and to the entire city of Manchester, HA HA! We couldn't be beaten by the best team or the richest team in the world, and that's not half bad

Great game today. We had a spell of about 20 minutes or so in the middle/late first half where the midfield disappeared almost completely. It seemed the back line or the front line had the ball, and nothing in between. After that I was happy with just about everyone's performance. I am usually pretty harsh on Zamora, but kudos today. Demps...that dude just makes me proud (to boot, his goals today made me win a fantasy head to head game against a guy who is pretty derogatory towards American footballers...sweet revenge I guess)

To be honest, the games have different feel to them now that we are well out of the relegation battle. On one hand, when you are down the tables a bit, every single game, goal, half, and minute are so important, that you are sitting on the edge of your seat, biting your nails just dying at each pass and tick of the clock.

But today, on the other hand, watching our team today without a gun to their head was extremely pleasing. Is it just me, or did they just seem a bit more relaxed, and I think their play reflected it. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining, relegation battles can take years off your life, its just a different feel. Most welcome actually.

Back to England tomorrow after two great weekends in Texas. (How about an upgrade BA!) :big grin:

I was at the only FFC fan at Nevada's and with the only Man. City fan at Nevada's this was a game where we both expressed our depressing view of the team (My thesis: Fulham is the on the road, I'll be glad with a goal!) joined in by a friendly Aston Villa fan (there were like 10 for the game prior!) who assured us both that this should be an easy win for MCFC due to the team's home and away forms. The first half seemed to justify this theory.

Then the second half came! I'm still amazed at what I saw today! I went to church last night and so I guess it was fitting that today I saw a miracle on the TV at a bar in NYC! 3 goals from Fulham! Almost 4 had Hangeland kept the header down (and he did get it down on a later corner, hitting, uh, the ground only, though).

Fulham were much stronger in possession, they caught MC's defense slow and, on the third goal, shorthanded! That third goal was like an odd-man rush in hockey! And Zamora did incredibly well to set up Dempsey, who completed his brace as cool as a cucumber. It was fantastic stuff that I'm still smiling about! Anytime this team does something on the road is pretty pleasing, but this was even better! They should do it more often!

P.S. This game was done for FanZone, that should be a fun one based on the highlights!

HAHA - thanks for the link Optimizer

I love how hearing a Brit yelling "God Bless America" and the Etuhu goal brought forth a worthy face rubbing of the fan whose team dumped him like a sack of bricks.....

Now I wish I had some MCFC friends I could do like wise!

Well the only thing that could make this even better is if we got the FSC Fan-Zone game... wait we did! ;)

Everyone tune in Tuesday night to Fox Soccer Channel for a replay with fan commentators. Should be extra nice!

I watched the match on a slight delay after I got home from church. I was so pissed at the half but Dempsey's goal cheered me up. After some of the Etuhu bashing thats been going on (not so much here, but other places), glad to see Dickson score.

Great win. Great to see Fulham sitting in 8th. Great that we play Middlesbrough next week (although they do scare me bit).

On a side note, on Friday we went to my wife's weekly OBGYN check and for the first time, they checked to see if she was dilated. She was...to 3 cm's (my wife is at 37 weeks) already. Doctor thinks the baby could come any time now and I believe her, my wife's contractions have picked up steam.

I got the Fulham baby kit ready to go. Just need the little one to arrive :)

Besides being happy that Fulham won, on a whim, I made Dempsey my fantasy captain this week (so double points!!! :-D ).

Where did you get it? I've been looking online on ebay and the Fulham store...can't find anything for babies...the youngest is 18/24 months in the baby section.

Anyway...great away win. Fulham still need to be more aggressive in creating chances on goal. But other than that I can't complain.

They had them at the FulhamFC.com store a few months ago. I picked up two sizes (0-3 & 6 mos). They are no longer available, but I would keep checking.

OSully was right -- Fulham was more relaxed, especially in the second half! Maybe it was because I certainly was not more relaxed but I was not expecting us to come out in the second half the way we did, like we were going to have fun kicking blue posterior all over Manchester. The first half had nothing to lead me to believe that Fulham would play one of the best halves of the year after the break.

Deuce -- what can you say. Holy Cow, that was AWESOME!!! And Schwarzer's save on Evans' header should make the short list for best saves of the season.

Again, on BZ, I have a fear that we will only appreciate him when he is gone. Two sweet passes for two goals.

I opted not to pick up Dempsey for my fantasy team, in favor of Rory Delap.   Yep, there's a fine footy brain in my cranium!

Congrats to the FUSA baby boom!

One point away from Europe?!?! FULHAM?!?!? I have my fingers crossed.
