also noticed that The Little Airplane has been featuring on the bench for AS Roma.

I often wonder how many goals he'd gotten for us the remainder of the 06-07 season, if they hadn't fired Cookie.

I decided to check in on Radz. He scored 2 in Lierse's 4-1 romp over Tienen in the Belgian 2nd division. Lierse currently sit in 2nd place, 2 points behind STW and are 9 points clear of 3rd place Ronse. Here are the match details which also has a picture of Tomasz:

Radz has 10 goals on the season and Lierse are actually in the Semi-Finals of the Belgian Cup against favorites KRC Genk.

Don't know if you guys are still trying to keep up with Cottagers elsewhere, but Bouazza scored one today as Birmingham beat Doncaster 2-0.

Saha's been pretty good for Everton though, so I wouldn't put too much on this one performance.

Yeah, he's delivered two game winners. Missing a couple when your team wins 3-1 isn't going to matter much.

EJ watch -- he came on as a sub in the 76th minute for Cardiff. The bad news was Cardiff somehow managed to have an even worse day than Man Yoo yesterday, having two men sent off by the thirty third minute!!! Maybe that wasn't the fairest test of what EJ can do.

Update on Volzy's season w/ the Tractor boys. Volz made 20 first team League appearances for Ipswich Town and their starting right back until he suffered an injury against Sheffield Wednesday in January. After a lengthy layoff he tried to come back but reaggravated the injury and ended up missing the rest of the year. According to his website, he was in attendance for the match against Swansea in the FA Cup. Now that his loan is over, it will be interesting to see what happens with Volzy.

this may have been mentioned earlier, but thought I'd update Collins John status. He was on loan to NEC in the Dutch League, but they terminated his loan in March. Here is some info on that:

"John's spell at Goffertstadion was a massive disappointment, the forward playing a mere handful of matches before being banished to the reserves by coach Mario Been. His fitness and attitude were said to be of concern to the management."

out of shape and a bad attitude? really?

Former Fulham player Gabriel Zakuani has established a home for himself in central defense for Peterborough United. Zakuani started the season on loan with the Posh and was so good that manager Darren Ferguson (Sir Alex's son) made the move permanent. Zakuani went on to feature in 32 matches for the Posh and was a staple to their backline, especially since the other three first teamers all experienced various injuries forcing many lineup changes. Zakuani was a constant presence throughout and helped lead the Posh to promotion to the Coca Cola Championship. Zakuani is beloved by Posh fans and has 3 more years remaining on his contract. I want to wish him luck in the Championship next year.

David Stockdale began the season on loan with Rotherham United in League 2 and featured in 8 matches. Stockdale then made the move to League 1 side Leicester City and went straight in to the team. Stockdale played well but was injured, and former Fulham goalkeeper Tony Warner was brought in and kept his spot in the first 11 the remainder of the season. Stockdale did feature 6 times total for City and mentioned he would welcome the opportunity to come back next season should the opportunity arise. I know from the fan banter I saw that they liked what they saw from him although they ended up signing another keeper from Bristol City I think just recently.

Hameur Bouazza also began the season on loan with one team and finished with another. I was espeically anxious to see how his loan deal would turn out because to me he has fantastic pace, and a rocket left foot. I was anxious to see if he could fine tune some of the other parts of his game, particularly his shooting. Because we don't have a naturally left footed wide player, my hope was that he would use this year to really develop and come back to challenge for a spot. Although it's possible he still could have a place in the squad, it's more than likely Bouazza will be on someone else's roster next season. He played 25 matches for Charlton and was a constant in their lineup. He scored 4 goals but wasted muiltiple opportunities. His second loan spell saw him move to Birmingham City where he played a role in their promotion bid, although only a slight role. Bouazza began his loan spell w/ the Blues be being in the first 11, but by seasons end he was on the bench. He made 16 appearances with City and scored but 1 goal.

Jimmy Bullard - I still love you Jimmy. I wish you were playing in Europe next year like we are. Good luck to you next year and your tigers who survived by the hair of their chinny chin chin.
