Arguably the greatest and most unlikely dream season continues. Leverkusen unbeaten season reached 49 yesterday :eek:(40 wins and 9 draws) as they scored deep into stoppage to draw w/Roma 2-2 (4-2 on agg). Yesterday’s match showed how much resilience Xabi Alonso’s side has. You would think after going down 0-2 on 2 tough penalty calls they would be satisfied after Roma gifted them an OG and see the match out to advance to the Europa Final, but nope they threw numbers forward and were rewarded. Leverkusen clinched the Bundesliga weeks ago, and all that’s left is 2 league games, the Europa Final vs Atalanta, and the German Cup Final just 3 days later vs Kaiserslautern.

If this was Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, or maybe a giant club in a smaller league it wouldn’t register, but Leverkusen is the Spurs of Germany. It would be like the Buffalo Bills going undefeated. It’s the coolest thing outside of anything Fulham has done since Leicester City won the Prem. I really hope they finish it off.

In November 2022 I watched Bayer take on st Louis city and now this remarkable run has unfolded. It surely can't be coincidence right. I clearly inspired something right? Right???

Pretty appropriate scoreline to push the streak to 50’matches…5-0.

Bayern Neverlusen no more (see Fulham Alumni), as Atalanta deals them a 3-0 defeat. They don’t have much time to get over the loss, as they got the German Cup Final on Sat.
