I thought I read somewhere that sess had signed a new deal too?

That has been reported in the media, but nothing official yet. I'm always reluctant to put any faith in news reports on team comings and goings, but this guy at least got the Cairney part right in his article. Hopefully he's right about Sessegnon staying too: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...cairney-commit-to-staying-at-fulham-dqdx7l9kd

It seems to me that Sess is already committed to us for a while longer. If/when he goes, it will be because it will benefit Fulham FC financially.

It’s still great to lock Cairney up for what should be the prime seasons of his career. At 27, with his experience and, yes, even room to improve, he could well earn a statue somewhere near Mr. Haynes.

Sessegnon's contract is currently through the end of the 2019-2020 season. That's two more seasons. Yes, it would be good to try to lock him up for a few more (especially before he gets too expensive), but we have him for at least one more now.

If we can't pry Mitrovic away from Toons, maybe we can get Denis Cheryshev from Villareal. Neither they nor Valencia, his two most recent employers, seem to rate him. I realize some players overperform at the WC every four years, then disappear down some futbol black hole, but this dude has come out of nowhere and has shown some serious quality. Easily the surprise player of the tournament. If you could've gotten odds, you still wouldn't have bet a fiver that Denis Cheryshev would score four goals, or maybe even started a match for Russia (he was a sub in their opener against the Saudis).

Just saw this on ESPN's transfer ticker:

13.00 BST: To Italy, where Gianluca Di Marzio reports that sought-after Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri "will not be heading for Serie A because he is ready to become a new Fulham player."

It says Seri will cost the newly-promoted Londoners €20 million and "is ready for his new adventure at Fulham."

So far, it’s been an impressive window for FFC. Mitro and a keeper upgrade seem to be the biggest targets at present. But more than half the battle was avoiding losses (Cairney, Sess, Joka).

Fulham played a friendly against Reading that finished 0-0. Video highlights are available here: http://www.fulhamfc.com/first-team/2018_2019/friendly/reading#videohighlights

Marchand was initially put in on the left side of defense, but was later moved to central defense after Ream got a cut to his head - so maybe Jokanovic is considering the option of having him play left back.

Ream had to get stitches, but otherwise sounds okay.

Cyrus Christie looked like a capable replacement for Fredericks, it remains to be seen if that is good enough for the Premier League.

It was clear we missed having Mitrovic to finish off some of the chances Fulham had in the box. Hopefully Fulham can close a deal with him soon.

Inevitable after Betts ousted him as our No. 1...twice. Good luck to him.

We were soundly beaten today in Switzerland by Fenerbahce, 3-nil. I know, it’s the pre-season. I know, we didn’t start our “A” team (whatever that is at the moment). The troubling part? Joka threw what amounted to the kitchen sink, at least as it currently exists, at them for the last 25 minutes, to absolutely no avail. Cairney, Odom, Kamara, Ryan Sess and Betts, along with Fonte, Christie, Le Marchand and, finally, StefJo. Not only did we not score, they added their 3rd with most of our better players on the pitch. I realize Fenerhabce are one of the top clubs in the Turkish Super League, but we’re back in the Premier League darnit. We’d better start acting and playing like one sooner than later, or this will be a short trip up. All the goodwill earned from a benchmark season climaxed by an out of body experience at THE world’s football stadium will evaporate like the smoke from a generic cigarette.
