Long time posters and readers on here will know that I've talked about my bands on here. The Tim and Bob Show has popped up on this site -- and it's predecessors -- many times, including some seriously shameless flogging of our CD [Take It Outside -- still selling and shipping, by the way] in 2008.

Well, after celebrating our 10th anniversary in August, we've decided to shut it down -- at least for public gigs. We may do private parties, and we will perform now and again in the church all four of us attend, but Saturday, November 28 is our last public performance. The finest 4-part harmonies in the city will soon just be a memory.

Why? Well for one thing, I entered my 70th year yesterday. The loading/unloading/setting up guarantees that at least two of the four of us begin the gig already tuckered out. Sellers and Hymel's gear is much lighter to carry and quicker to store.

The two non-Hymel members of the band also have a duo as well as a madrigal group and full-time jobs. The only member who won't be performing regularly is the Memsahib, although I'll coax her up on stage to sing a song or two with S&H.

Anyhow, I'm posting this because many people on this site have been very supportive of my musical exploits, and I thought y'all would appreciate the bookend. Thanks!

First off, Happy Birthday (albeit a day late) hope you and HatterMom had a little celebration. Secondly, sorry to hear about the 'semi'retirement' of the band, may the private parties and church performances be plentiful. Finally, I'm all for shameless public flogging so it's time to bump the following....

Well, happy birthday sir, first of all. Second, I enjoyed the tunes, and email updates on shows that were 5 states away, but if there are vintage clips in your archive, please continue to share them on the music thread. Congratulations on making fine music and keeping a band together for 10 years - my kids' band breaks up every other month!

Congratulations on seven decades of life and a decade of Tim & Bob Show music. I hope the last gig is a blast for all of you.

I echo the above. Happy Birthday & enjoy the T&BS swan song. I'm glad the four of you will still get to play music together, even if it's just for your own enjoyment.

The gig was last night and the venue was jammed. There were some videos and when I get a chance I'll upload one. Meantime the rest of the band asked me -- "the word guy" -- to post something on the Facebook event page. Here's what I said. Please note: it was kind of an emotional night.

" We could not have picked a better time, a better venue, or a better audience than we experienced this evening. You guys have been so generous with your affection and attention over the last 10+ years. You continue to melt our hearts.

Thanks to Carlos and Rod for the Olmos Pharmacy -- a fantastic location for live and local music. Thanks also to Jules for setting up the event. We also appreciate Chelsea and Brianna who took care of a huge crowd, not to mention the kitchen staff who worked so hard tonight. Thanks also to Karen Dickens Emerson who recreated her amazing flute solo that graced our CD.

As for the citizens of Tim and Bob Nation -- present or absent -- if our music has touched your heart, brought a smile, eased a pain, or caused you to remember a good time, it means we've done what we set out to do.

And, finally, thanks to my fellow members of The Tim and Bob Show. Love, respect and affection for Steve Feinstein, Kathy Harrity Feinstein, and Mary Lou Hymel."
