I saw that. Apparently the guy loves a good imaginary conspiracy. Sounds very Fulhamish, but please no.

I haven't coached in 30 years -- and then it was 12-14 year olds -- but I can come out of several retirements to take over if asked

Perhaps we can lure Alex Ferguson out of retirement to join you Don. Or Norman Dale.

Does anyone still have faith that the same folks who "rushed" to fire Kit, are still working to get a better replacement? 2 lackluster draws and 3 weeks have gone by and we're no closer. This is Jacksonville Jaguars stuff....

Of course. What else do you think they're doing? They've missed on some guys, sure, and I wish they'd quit chasing coaches already employed in our league, but they'll find someone. Will they be better than Kit? Defensively it would be tough to be much worse.

I disagree that firing Kit was rushed, but to each his own.

I'll ask the same thing I did in the chat yesterday; what happened to the Exeter manager rumored at the beginning of the search? Young, enthusiastic, but experienced. Throw in he is from a lower league it would seem he would gladly focus on football.

I'm not getting too excited about this one, given our track record on this particular employee search, but I'd love to see it. Not sure why he'd leave Rangers this soon after taking the gig, but stranger things have happened. Brentford's owner was stupid to force him out, that's for sure. He's got one of the highest profile clubs in Europe back on track for the first division after a bankruptcy nightmare. Hope it happens...for US!

It was exactly two years ago today that Martin Jol was relieved of his duties by Fulham. Boggles my mind how long ago that seems but it's only been 2 years. Just hope the next manager (sorry, *coach*) isn't fired 6 months from now.

I'm not a betting guy (I do love the craps table though), but the sheer amount of gambling websites that are on the front of Premier League shirts is amazing. It's a thing...

Not to derail the subject matter here, but I'm taking a computer programming course and was thinking of creating a program that worked with Premier League player stats for a project. When I started googling Premier League stats to see if I could download them as input for my program, all that came up was betting sites, betting stats, and betting help. It was a little discouraging.

I don't even know what to say about this search at this point. On the one hand, I'm glad we didn't just run out and hire an out-of-work manager quickly to get someone in. On the other hand, the fact that we only seem to be interested in employed managers seems to be dragging this thing out and making us amateurish. How many times can we get publicly turned down?

I'm trying to ignore the gambling angle. They seem to be based purely on speculation, not actual fact. It seems that Mr. Grant will be in charge for at least one more fixture. And best I can tell, Mike Rigg has never hired a head coach/manager.
