Hunted around and couldn't find any explanation about Omar's omission (especially with Brooks out). It looks like it will be a Besler/Cameron cb pairing w/Ream & Fabian.

Twellman talked about it a little bit during the Galaxy-Sounders match Sunday night. Not much, other than to say, "it hurts" if you're in Gonzalez's shoes, especially after playing in the World Cup last summer. Oh well, we'll see what we'll see, I guess.

I read somewhere, I don't remember where though (and can't seem to find it now), that Beasley and Johnson have already been named starters.

The only thing in our favor here is that El Tri has choked even more than we have recently.

Oh, did I miss AJ's name in the roster?

I like LD's comments. I'm sure people will say it's just personal but it's about time someone of note holds JK's feet to the fire.

This is one of the very rare rivalries where each team considers the other it's greatest rival. Even Arsenal supporters consider Chelsea their major rival and United supporters consider Liverpool in that class rather than Citeh. But Mexico v. USA -- yeah, both #1 for the other

Why Evan *he said sarcastically* didn't you see Alvarado's name on the tram sheet?

I wish we could stick Alvarado on a tram. Maybe an endless loop around Disneyland Saturday night so JK can't pick him?

Feilhaber-esque loss for the U.S. I guess what goes around comes around. Mexico pressured the U.S. well. The U.S. Just lacked that something extra overall, but that was a hard fought loss.

Mexico was easily the better team for most of the night.

Agreed. They had more pace & skill in attack. The hallmarks of USA Soccer that have led us to victory in this series, better defending & playing better as a unit were absent. That's probably down to the inconsistent lineups in the run up to this match, but I'm concerned about us going forward.

They played 3 forwards & still bossed possession & the midfield against us. I'm concerned we either need the next generation of talent to emerge quickly or we need to go back to a more Bradley/Arenas approach. I'm not seeing the next Bradley, Donovan & Dempsey & the old guard is in decline.
