unsigned guys train with clubs all the time. He could be getting fit to get a gig in Australia or MLS.

Good point. I remember Henry & Beckham doing that with Arsenal. I'd be very surprised by an O'Hara move to MLS, but hadn't thought of Australia.

I like how Cairney is mainly referred to as an attacking minded left-footed midfielder, which is basically Bryan Ruiz

I think we'll find them to be very different players.

Also, reports are now that O'Hara is on trial with us at the moment. I'm surprised we could get a player like him in on trial. I'd guess we end up signing him.

All of these look to be routine, non first team transactions, with the possible exception of the Arthurworrey deal. We may need him by January, hopefully not before. And is Luca de la Torre a real player? All I've ever heard about him is how well he's doing for other clubs...

Was thinking the same thing, especially as an American that I want to see progress. I know our midfield wasn't good last season, but we now have an overload of guys that can play in central midfield:

    - Parker
    - LVC
    - Hyndman
    - Tunnicliffe
    - Cairney
    - Pringle

and we're looking at O'Hara and McDonald... Somethings gotta give.

Is Parker's deal done after this season? I think Pringle will be out wide. I imagine LVC is staying, wouldn't shock me if Tunnicliffe leaves or is loaned out again. I think Hyndman is too young to be a regular in this league. I can see him as a possible loan to a lower league or goes back to the youth team. The bench would not be good for him at all.

I was thinking the same as the Senator. Hyndman is only 19. If anything, this move gives him a few more years to develop.

It would be interesting to see if Hyndman is willing to go out on loan considering how much first-team football he played last year before his injury. If he is, I think there would be other teams in the Championship that would be interested.

Seems like a good signing given the clubs interested. I know a lot of fans weren't too impressed by him last season (have to admit I didn't get to watch enough games to form my own opinion), but it's never easy to come in as a loanee late the year and jump straight into the side. To sign a full international player entering his prime for £500,000 (unless that figure has changed) seems like good business.

So far so good Fulham. Keep it up.

I had to take a look back at where we were at this point last year during signings, since I've had positive feelings about the signings so far.

Our 2014 signings as of July 3:
Shaun Hutchinson - from Scottish League team Motherwell
Adam Taggart - from Australian A League Newcastle
Tim Hoogland - from Bundesliga Schalke FC
Mark Fotheringham - from League One Notts County
Kay Voser - from Swiss league Basel FC

At this point we had signed zero guys who had played in the Championship or Premier League. We only signed three eventually: McCormack, Smith, and Kiraly

Our 2015 signings as of July 3:
    Tom Cairney - from Blackburn
    Benn Pringle - from Rotherham
    Jazz Richards - from Swansea

Already we've equaled our number of Championship or Premier League signings from last year, and based on the rumors I'd expect to see more. This feels much better than the summer of head-scratching last year.

And don't forget Andy Lonergan from Bolton. A good, timely reminder of the (hopefully) positive change of direction,

DOH! Thanks Jump. I had him on my list but forgot to include him. So we already have more players coming into the team who've played at this level than what we had last year.

O'Hara having a medical with us according to reports. Transfer looks likely.

O'Hara would be a good veteran addition.

Hopefully we can land Kevin MacDonald as well. MacDonald would provide more of a holding presence but can also pull the strings from the back.

Parker has one more year...regrettably. Agree about Pringle probably playing out wide. I'd like to see Emerson loaned out if he can't win a starting spot over the summer. He needs matches and League 1 wouldn't be a bad place to get them. I question if he can hold up to the physicality of the Championship at his age.

Looking forward to seeing some more signings of wide players both at fullback & in the midfield.

I have a suspicion that Wolves set a price for McDonald that was too rich for us, so we signed O'Hara up to play in that holding roll. With O'Hara signed, we now have Parker, Tunnicliffe, Hyndman, O'Hara, and even LVC (played there for the Denmark U21s) that can play in that deep roll. I think we're set at that position, and CM in general.

I think our focus now has to be at CB, and possibly LB.

I'm not sure I'd count anyone on that list as filling the holding role. Parker is a poor defender & poor passer. I think Hyndman isn't near physical enough. Don't really see LVC or Tunnicliffe in that spot either. I haven't seen enough of O'Hara the last 2-3 years to say for sure on him.

Fun fact: Did you know our winning % was higher w/o Parker in the starting XI than with him last year? It wasn't by a dramatic margin, but it's telling nonetheless.

Wouldn't have guessed that fact re Parker off the top of my head, Ag. It may be simply a hunch, and I may not be paying close enough attention (not the first time), but the club seems to have a plan to build on. With regard to the tweener players, that are young but had a taste of the Championship last year, I fully support loan deals, for at least half season.
