Lyle Della-Verde: Fulham midfielder joins Bristol Rovers

Bristol Rovers have signed Fulham midfielder Lyle Della-Verde on a month's loan.

The 19-year-old joined the academy at Craven Cottage in 2011 after previous spells with Tottenham and Southend.

Rovers have brought him in to cover for Andy Monkhouse, who is serving a three-match ban, and Jake Gosling, who has been called up for Gibraltar.

"I mentioned him last season but we couldn't get him in," manager Darrell Clarke told BBC Radio Bristol.

"I've watched him a couple of times and he's always impressed me.

"He can play on either flank, has tricks in the locker and is very attack-minded. The kid's got potential so it's a good deal."

Shrewsbury Town: Jack Grimmer and Bobby Grant extend loan deals

Shrewsbury Town have agreed to extend the initial one-month loan deals for both Blackpool's Bobby Grant and Fulham's Jack Grimmer until January.

Since making their debuts against York on 18 October, striker Grant, 24, and defender Grimmer, 20, have each started five consecutive games for the Shrews.

In those games the club have picked up four league wins in a row.

"They can be satisfied with the part that they've played so far," manager Micky Mellon told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"(They have brought) quality and major energy.

"They came into the group and became part of it very, very early. They're good guys."

Both parent clubs have the option of an immediate recall on the players.

Marcello Trotta joins Barnsley on loan from Fulham

Barnsley have signed Italian striker Marcello Trotta on loan from Fulham until 5 January.

The 22-year-old scored 13 times last term for Brentford, helping the Griffin Park side win promotion from League One to the Championship.

He also spent most of the 2012-13 campaign with the Bees and has a record of eight goals in as many games during a spell with Wycombe Wanderers.

He is yet to make a start for the Cottagers and has not played this term.

Yeovil sign Aston Villa's Jed Steer & Fulham's Stephen Arthurworrey

Aston Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer and Fulham defender Stephen Arthurworrey have joined Yeovil Town on loan.

Both players have signed for the Glovers until 31 January.

Steer, 22, was a Norwich player when he had his first spell with Yeovil in 2011, before he agreed a switch to Villa last summer.

Arthurworrey, 20, spent the second half of last season on loan at Tranmere, making 17 appearances, and has featured once for his parent club.

No problems with dumping Fotheringam and Chidli, but Burgess and David should be getting run outs in Cup games, in my humble opinion.

I agree that if Burgess and David are with the squad, then they should get run outs in Cup matches.

However, if that's the only playing time that they're given, then I'd rather see them go out on loan and start regularly.

Fulham defender Jack Grimmer has seen his loan spell with Shrewsbury Town extended until January, subject to the paperwork being completed.

The right-back will now stay with the Sky Bet League Two Shrews until Saturday 3rd January.

Grimmer has earned rave reviews since joining the Shropshire side in October, helping them to four wins from as many league games to help Town up to third place in the table.

Fulham have the option of an immediate recall on the player.

Meanwhile, Jesse Joronen's loan spell with Accrington Stanley will not be extended beyond its expiry date of Saturday 15th November. The goalkeeper suffered a knee injury late last month during his stint with Stanley and will return to the Cottage.

Bent - 6 goals in 7 matches with Derby County.

Why couldn't he (or any of our recent big signings) score for us? Is our style (or quality) of play that far off from what works? Are we continually signing the wrong kind of striker (square peg, round hole)?

This season, Bent is playing with probably the best team in our league. Last season -- when he played with us -- he was playing with the second worst team I've ever seen in the Premier League. That's one difference right there. Bent will ALWAYS score if he's given service and doesn't have to do much running. His current team is filled with very quick and very strong attackers. All he has to do is be in position and keep his head up and he'll score. Last season, we didn't have the players capable or interested in getting the ball quickly from defense to attack.

Our central midfield was and is garbage. And we continue to insist on playing through them. Nothing changes until that is addressed.

At least last year we had Richardson & Dejagah and on the few occasions we played wide with them, we found success.

The deterioration of this club has gone almost hand in hand with the deterioration of our central midfield...in my humble opinion. There are other factors but, for me, this is the single biggest one by a wide margin.
