Just over one month ago bookmakers in England had Fulham at 50-1 odds to stave off relegation. If anyone took that bet he/she is a rich person today as Fulham came back against all the odds to stave off relegation after Sunday's 1-0 win over Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

The win marked Fulham's fourth in five matches to complete the improbable comeback from being six points back from safety less than one month ago.
Sunday's win did not come without a fight though as both Reading and Birmingham City took early leads and held on for wins meaning for the Cottagers to avoid the drop, a win was needed.
Fortunately for the Fulham faithful, after a rocky first half, the Cottagers started controlling some possession against a full strength Portsmouth team and took advantage of a set piece in which Danny Murphy got on the end of a Jimmy Bullard free kick to head it past Pompey keeper Jamie Ashdown to score the lone goal of the match in what will be a memorable goal for Fulham for many years to come.
After the Murphy goal, it was a nervy time for the Fulham players, coaches and supporters alike as Portsmouth had a number of corners that Fulham thwarted in the last ten minutes en route to the massive win.
The win not only kept Fulham in the Premier League but it also marked the third straight road win for the Cottagers after going 33 in a row without a win.
Fulham's great escape was one for the ages and one that Fulham fans will will remember for a long, long time. After finishing the season in sparkling form under Roy Hodgson it could be an omen for a positive 2008-2009 season for the Cottagers.
The main goal was avoiding the drop after a dreadful first seven months of the season and low and behold the Cottagers did just that with Sunday's win over Portsmouth.
It is rather difficult to put into the words the thoughts and feelings Fulham supporters have right now after overcoming the odds to stave off relegation.
No need to worry about life in the Coca-Cola Championship, Fulham is staying in the Premier League!!
We are stayin' up say we are stayin' up!!!!
