Watching Fulham in Michigan

Postby Logicalman » Thu Oct 27, 2011 4:54 am

We are due up in Holland, MI for thanksgiving, and the boss says she wants to stay over for the weekend. That encompasses the Arsenal game on the Saturday.

Any good places to see the match up and around there is anyone aware of please? Don't mind traveling a little either.

Cheers y'all,

Tony

Tony, can't say I've ever traveled to Michigan so had to Wikipedia Holland, and not so ironically it's Dutch inspired. However, even there you can find an Irish pub. Look up The Curragh Pub www.curraghholland.com. Probably not the best odds of seeing the match, but the town looks like a great place for a nice weekend w/the better half.

I used to travel to Muskegon a lot but I didnt watch footy back then so I have no first hand recommendations to help you out. However, the American Outlaws chapter in Grand Rapids, MI meets to watch USA games at Uccellos on Beltline Rd. so you know they are at least willing to show soccer matches on their big screens. Now whether they're willing to open early if that's needed is another thing all together.

Here's their website if you're interested in checking them out.

Thanks for the responses.

Yes Joe, I found the first time went there for thanksgiving it was purely a Dutch Town. Then again, my in-laws are Dutch descent - so I shouldn't have been surprised.

There is an Irish pub down town, and we called. Looks like the manager tends to come in early and open up for the early matches, so we'll just have to see what time the match will be on. Of course, we'll both be wearing our colors there, so pics will be forthcoming.

Cheers Mo, we are more than willing to travel the odd 30 miles or so to GR, so we might even end up there, have to give the guy a bell and ask.

How was the trip Tony? And were you able find a place that carried the match?
