Great Goals in Fulham History

Postby SoCalJoe » Tue Jun 05, 2012 11:27 am

The Offal is running a series on great goals in the club's history. Picking it up at number 17 is Junichi Inamoto at Old Trafford. Look who is in the goal for ManU. Included is our former manager Chris 'Cookie' Coleman celebrating w/assistant Steve Kean and Sir Alex stonefaced...quality

Going the opposite direction, coming in at #18. ManU is the victim again, and a very memorable goal from a fan favorite. Zoltan Gera with some huge goals for the team and this one was pure class.

At #19 is an absolute cracker from Sylvain Legwinski. During the time when the Cottage was being refurbished and our home matches were at Loftus Road.

Starting the countdown (and the 4th post here  ) at number 20. It's from Europa League action (you have to think there are 4-5 more Europa goals that will make the list). What a beautiful volley by AJ from a Danny Murphy cross.

At #16 is a goal set up by Steed 'Steeeeeeeed' Malbranque and finished by Luis Boa Morte that knocked off The Special One's Chelsea. LBM was fantastic in black and white.

You know it's a great goal when your team scores and instead of 'YESS!! or GOAL!!!' all you can come up with is some sort of noise along the lines of 'Woooaahh'. PK's goal against is old club was thunderbolt and caught everyone watching off guard, and is the #14 entry.

Most people thought the Europa run would end against a top notch Shaktar side, and with the first leg tied at 1-1 Bobby Zamora received a brilliant flick from Gera and unleashed this rocket. Match winner and off to the Ukraine w/a vital lead. Kind of thought this would be higher than #13.

"Leggy" with his second appearance in the countdown. At #12, is his goal to top off an amazing comeback win over Spurs. Second American GK to appear, with Kasey Keller the victim this time. WIll Friedel and/or Hahnemann be next? 8-)

#11 Is another chip from Bryan Ruiz, this time against Bolton. Personally I rate his goal against Everton better than this, but it's still audacious.

Checking in at #10 was the fantastic volley by the Digger himself, Simon Davies, in the only European Final the club has ever played in. Tim, Lax, Kansas, Carlos, and I (along with the entire Fox and Hounds Pub in Studio City) went crazy when this one went in. Love the video (wish it was added here) where the camera is fixed on the Fulham support in Hamburg and their reaction to this goal.

You knew there was going to be 2 goals from Diomansy Kamara in the countdown and his overhead kick to salvage a point against Tottenham is #9. Martin Jol was the manager of the Spurs and I can remember the look on his face as he was walking off the pitch
