I wouldn't be too concerned about Pog. I think it's the club stating they won't overpay for him. As limited as he is, that's a good thing. I also suspect he's holding out til after Euro 2012 in case he can get on the pitch and drive his value up. Slim chance there, but there is a chance.

Prem suitors tracking Ismail
Several Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on highly-rated Wolves starlet Zeli Ismail, according to reports.

Ismail, who has come through the ranks at Molineux, is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in England after catching the eye for Wolves and England's youth sides.

The talented winger has been talked about since the age of 14 when he burst onto the scene with England's Under-16s at the Milk Cup tournament in Northern Ireland.

The likes of Chelsea and Manchester City have been credited with an interest in Ismail in the past and a number of other clubs are also tracking his progress.

Ismail is entering the final year of his contract at Wolves and as yet no new deal has been discussed alerting his suitors to his possible availability.

The likes of Fulham, Queens Park Rangers and West Ham are all thought to be weighing up moves for the skilful midfielder as they look to lure him from Molineux.

Wolves would be loath to lose their prize asset, but they could face a fight to keep hold of him if they fail to tie him down to a new deal with Premier League clubs waiting in the wings to snap him up.

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastl ... -31145493/?

DANNY SIMPSON will be subject of fresh interest from Fulham when the Newcastle United right-back returns from his holiday in the United States.

The Chronicle understands Simpson is still open to the possibility of staying on Tyneside but has targeted a move to the capital if his future is not resolved with United.

The Cottagers would fit the bill for the player, who could be on the brink of ending his three-year stay with the black-and-whites.

Queens Park Rangers also have a longstanding interest in the player, the boyhood Manchester United fan Simpson also enthusiastic about working for one of his heroes Mark Hughes.

However, newly-appointed Norwich City manager Chris Hughton – who signed him at United – is also keeping tabs on the right-back who has always split Toon fans’ opinion.

A source close to Simpson told the Chronicle: “Danny will see where the land lies when he returns from holiday. If he does leave Newcastle then London would be a real attraction for him.”

Simpson was offered a new deal towards the end of last season and has been told there will be no advance in the proposal despite the Mancunian’s disappointment.

While running down the final year of his contract this season and waiting to become a free agent remains an option, United would rather cash in on the player this summer in the same manner they did with Jose Enrique last year.

Alan Pardew does not want disgruntled players in his squad as the Magpies approach a season in which they will start challenging on four fronts for the first time in six years.

Pardew wants to replace Simpson with a new right-back and offer James Tavernier the chance to challenge as back-up.

Lille right-back Mathieu Debuchy has been heavily linked with United, but will not make a decision on his future until France’s involvement in Euro 2012 is over.

Another target in Nathaniel Clyne has also been considered, but Crystal Palace have offered the 21-year-old a deal to stay at Selhurst Park.

Meanwhile, Tavernier will get his fair share of chances to impress in both pre-season and the Europa League and Carling Cup, with Pardew keen to hold on to the 20-year-old with his contract up at the end of this month.

Fulham close to landing greatly improved Real Madrid midfielder
He wasn’t considered good enough by either Chelsea or Arsenal, making a grand total of 43 appearances for the two London giants in three years, but French midfielder Lassana Diarra resurrected his career at lowly Portsmouth, with whom he won the FA Cup in 2008 before being whisked away to arguably the greatest club in the world, Real Madrid, where he has spent the last four seasons as a more than useful squad player.

Diarra was widely expected to leave Real last season after becoming second choice to Sami Khedira, but the French midfielder ended up staying on and was duly rewarded with a La Liga winners medal.

However, it now appears that Diarra’s career in Spain could well have come to an end with interest from both England and Italy for the 27-year old defensive midfielder.

Armed with an agent in Frederic Guerra, who is never shy of talking to the press, news has emerged on Radio Goal that a return to the Barclays Premier League is much the likelier with London based Fulham on the verge of signing Diarra. Napoli were rumoured to be in the running for his signature but a delay in offering a contract and the urgency being shown by West London club helping the midfielder make up his mind.

And...

http://www.clubcall.com/fulham/sporting ... 37145.html?

Martin Jol is being linked with a summer swoop to take Sporting Lisbon's Dutch midfielder Stijn Shaars to Fulham.

The Cottagers boss has been linked with a myriad of players during this current transfer window as he looks to bolster his squad further following an impressive mid-table finish in his debut season at Craven Cottage.
And reports in the Portuguese press are suggesting that Jol will make a move for his fellow compatriot, Shaars, who scored three goals in 43 domestic and Europa League appearances for Sporting in the past season.
Jol will know all about the 28-year-old central midfielder's qualities as he played for Dutch side AZ Alkmaar for six seasons before moving to Portugal 12 months ago.
However, if Jol does intend to make an offer for Shaars he is likely to face competition from top Italian Serie A outfits Inter Milan, Napoli and Lazio.

Arsenal and Fulham target Eljero Elia is set to leave Juventus after one season in Turin.

The Holland international claimed, after signing for the Old Lady, that he had also been the subject of interest from the Gunners as well as the Whites, Wigan, Everton and Newcastle.

Elia told www.onsoranje.nl in September after signing for Juventus: “My agent did have contact with Arsenal, but it took too long. I had no contact with Arsene Wenger.

“Wigan, Everton, Fulham and Newcastle had fairly concrete interest.”

http://www.clubcall.com/fulham/jol-link ... 37451.html?

Fulham boss Martin Jol is reportedly ready to rival Zenit St Petersburg for Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin.

The Russian international seems set to depart the Emirates Stadium this summer after joining Zenit on loan at the end of last season.
Zenit are keen to sign Arshavin on a permanent basis but it is thought the Russian side are unwilling to match the Gunners' £8million asking price, with Zenit prepared to pay around £5million for the 31-year-old.
Jol is eager to add to his attacking options this summer, with Clint Dempsey and Moussa Dembele widely tipped to depart Craven Cottage, and the Ducthman has been linked with a move for Arshavin, with Jol expected to be handed money to reinvest in his squad should Dempsey or Dembele be sold.

Fulham make moves to bring former Blackburn striker Vastic back from Bayern Munich

Fulham have made an enquiry about Bayern Munich forward Toni Vastic, 19, who joined Bayern from Blackburn last summer.

The Austrian impressed in his performances for Rovers' reserves and Fulham want to bring him back to the British Isles.

The Cottagers are short on striking options with Russian Pavel Pogrebnyak - who impressed on loan from Stuttgart in the latter half of last season - set to sign for Premier League new boys Reading.

And

http://www.cottagersconfidential.com/20 ... d-we-shall?

The president of Turksih side Trabzonspor has admitted that Fulham retain an interest in their striker, Burak Yilmaz, and that a deal is potentially imminent.

Martin Jol has been heavily linked with the forward, ever since rumours first began to circulate of his availability in the January transfer window. Since then, Yilmaz has continued to prove his worth to his club and has now pitched in with 32 goals in the Turkish Super Lig. In any competition, that is an amount that turns heads.

That has proven the case as Fulham are not the only ones on his trail:

"Lazio, Tottenham and Fulham want him and we shall now see," said the Turkish side's president, Sadir Sener.

"We have a roadmap for this and we want this done."

Interest doesn't stop with this trio, however, with Manchester United, Arsenal and West Ham United also following the player's fortunes. Yilmaz himself, though, only made one thing clear - his intention to play for a big, European side:

"I dream of a big European club," Yilmaz said.

"I have talked with the technical staff and president Sener and I told them that my dream is to grow as a player.

"We talked for a long time and everything was calm, like a child turning to his father.

"We will soon know my future and I hope it will be a good club where I play, but I do say thanks to everyone at Trabzonspor."

It's certainly an outlandish analogy but maybe Fulham can be the new father figure he seeks. Just so long as he returns our unconditional love.

If he wants to be at a big club then I don't know if I want him here. If he does well, he could be out the door after a season.

Guess we can scratch Yilmaz off our list

http://www.cottagersconfidential.com/20 ... ieves-hell?

Turkish press are saying they've spoken to Burak Yilmaz whilst on his holiday in Cesme and that he's 80% sure that he'll join Lazio in the coming days. This will be a blow to Fulham as we've been rumoured to be talking to Yilmaz for some time and his agent was in London a couple of weeks ago to meet with Fulham and Spurs representatives. The fee agreed with Trabzonspor is Eu 5 million. Initally Lazio offered EU 2.2 million per annum which was rejected but they've now offered 2.5 million which the player is happy with.

Below is what he had to say:-

"I know that Trabzonspor and Lazio are still talking but I believe the outcome of these talks will be positive. To this I cannot say the deal is finished but I'm 80% sure that next season I will be playing in Italy. Within days I hope this should be finalised"

I'm sure we have many targets up our sleeves but this could be potentially 2 major strike targets lost in the space of a few days.

The People on Sunday are today linking Fulham with a loan move for 19 year old Inter Milan striker, Luc Castaignos. The 6'2" Dutch striker has been heavily linked with a premanent move to West Ham in recent weeks but The People are saying that he's highly regarding at Inter and they would prefer to loan him for a year rather than sell.

Between 2009 and 2011, Castaignos played 37 times for Feyenord, scoring 15 goals and last season at Inter, he played 6 times and scored once.

He has formerly been linked with Manchester United and recently West Ham, Everton and Liverpool. He seems to have a big future ahead of him but if we were to loan him, I'd prefer an option at the end of the term to secure him on a permanent basis although a loan move were he scored 10+ goals, would still be very welcome.

Below are an example of some of his goals

Fulham and Toulouse want to sign out-of-favour midfielder Clement Chantome from Paris St Germain, according to reports in France.

Fulham boss Martin Jol has followed the 24-year-old Frenchman over the past two seasons when he was a regular in the Parisian's midfield in Ligue 1 and the Europa League.

However, Chantome has fallen out of favour at the club since Carlo Ancelotti took charge in January and made only one start under the Italian last season.

The former PSG youth player does not want to leave the club where he grew up but does not expect to feature much next season if Ancelotti remains in charge.

Ligue 1 rivals Toulouse are also looking to snap up Chantome this summer with reports in the French city today claiming that the club is set to contact PSG about a deal.

Fulham are on the lookout for midfielders as Danny Murphy appears set to move on with Blackburn Rovers now believed to be favourites to sign the 35-year-old former skipper.

Luc is a great player. I also have problems with loan deals. Would much rather see him come here on a permanent deal. It would suck to watch him do well and have him go back to Inter.
