Heard this one the other day and said it in chat, but think it bears repeating:

Kenny Dalglish goes into a church to confess over the Easter Holidays. "forgive me father, for I have sinned."
The priest replies: "Come forth my child"
Dalglish says: "Forth Father? We will be bloody lucky to come eighth."

Chelsea with a Fulham-like beat down of QPR. Things not looking good for Hughes and Co. :lol:

Posted this yesterday in Promo/releg thread...thought I'd repost here, just for fun...

Big props to Wolves today. Having already been relegated, they stormed back from being down 4-nil at Swans. They could've easily packed it in, but they didn't. Instead, they went to work, and against one of the best new keepers in the league, fought back to even terms, even though it meant NOTHING in either the short or long run. That's real character and class.

Jump, good shout for the repost on the Wolves not quitting against Swansea.

Wigan put a major dent in Newcastle's 4th place bid w/a 4-0 thrashing, that 2-1 win against them looks better and better.

I'll copy Jump and repost from the Relegation/Promotion thread. In desperate need of a result against Spurs, Blackburn put this many shots on goal today;

Even with no rooting interest it should be an intense match. All signs point to Citeh, but that's why United will probably sneak out at least a draw.

Oh, I'm betting it'll be a few rungs up from intense. The City supporters will want SAF's head on a spit. Hope I get a chance to catch a few minutes of it....

Roger Bennet (from ESPN) said on Morning Joe today that it's easier to pick out a favriot in the Iraq/Iran war then these two teams.

Sir Alex, what was that?

Postby SoCalJoe » Mon Apr 30, 2012 5:39 pm

He's a legend, an icon, etc, etc... but Alex Ferguson absolutely blew it. The lineup he chose was in a word..gutless. Citeh was the deserving winner in what was not an advertisement for the sport. You know it's bad when the dust up between him and Mancini was one of the highlights of the night. Sir Alex rolled out Park, Scholes, Giggs, and Carrick (not going to put fear into an opponent). Not having Valencia out there was a horrible decision. Scholes was only noticed when he was being abused by a blue shirt or when he was trying to goad Ya Ya Toure into getting his 2nd yellow. Speaking of Toure, the motm for me. Citeh are in the driver's seat, but travel to Newcastle next so they're not home free by any means.

If anyone's in the mood to be annoyed/amused at the ignorance of certain segments of the ESPN audience...

WOW. I used to get riled up about comments like that but now I just feel bad for those people because they don't realize what they are missing out on. Soccer is growing in the States whether they like it or not!

Yeah, I may have been bothered by comments like that when I was a lot younger. Nowadays, I don't even get bothered in the least. Not one original thought has ever entered into those individual's mind. Is there any insult in those comments you haven't heard a dozen times before? :sleeping-boring:

All they are telling the world is, "Hey something is on tv I don't like...I go onto twitter to make nasty jokes instead of going outside and actually play a sport or do something productive with my time."

Cisse of Newcastle with a goal so redonkulous that it beat out a no hitter for the #1 top play on espn sportscenter last night. His first goal was a thing of beauty, his second might of been the goal of the year. The Undead are all but DEAD in hopes of 4th place, and now will need to beat Bayern in their house to qualify for the CL.

Here's the goal;
