Suarez Needs to be banned AGAIN

No class. Just shake the hand and get on with it. If the FA is serious about stopping racism they need to take additional action from this morning. No place for that.

Well a decent manager wouldnt put up with crap like this and then no ban would be necessary. But I'm sure king kenny will continue to treat Suarez as a victim.

Not defending Saurez, but I don't think he should be banned for not shaking a hand. Yes, it's childish and a distraction. If Liverpool doesn't suspend him for a match, then that should be the end of it. No need for the FA to get involved.

btw...Evra is such a punk, why do what he did at the end of game? Getting into Suarez's face and celebrating, just asking for trouble. I don't blame him for the extra celebrating. But why cause more skirmishes at the end of game and risk suspension? Idiot.

Just saw the video of the handshake. Absolutely classless and disrespectful. Didn't see Evra at the end yet though but he shouldnt be retaliating either.

Patrice Evra did seem well pleased at the end of the match. He celebrated around the ground and I can imagine the Stretford End going bonkers. Utd did their speaking on the pitch, as it were.

As for the Spaniard, he is beyond the pale. I sense a young chap who has been mollycodled life-long owing to his prodigious talent and not inconsiderable graft to monetise it. I doubt he has ever tasted true adversity. When he is older he will look back in anguish.

Suarez and Dalglish CLEARLY didn't get the message. FIFA should ban BOTH of them, Dalglish for at least a month, Suarez for 6-12 months, depending on the referee's, hell, the whole officiating crew's, account of the match. They can stop with the big anti-racism banners on the pitch during intros until they DO something, otherwise the whole SAY NO TO RACISM campaign is a bloody joke

Suarez is a punk ass mofo, but I don't think there should be ban. Really, they shouldn't even shake hands before a match as it's pointless and can lead to shit like this. He does need a talking to and Kenny needs to stop acting like the whole world is being unfair. Racism has no place on the pitch or anywhere and to go and sulk the whole match is utterly pathetic.

Dalglish just does not get it. I don't believe once ever said any of the right things you say in a situation like this. Right after it happened his response should have been something to the effect of, "racism has no place in football," "that's not what Liverpool is about," " if it happened it's a real shame" etc. The when the ban is handed down you say something to the effect of that you will abide by the ban. Even if Dalglish is a racist himself and believes what Suarez said was correct, common sense should say, tread carefully on what you say in his defense. Apparently he must have skipped the day they gave the class on coaching clichés 101. I can't believe the higher ups at Liverpool didn't tell him to be careful with racism being such a livewire topic.

Suarez and Dalglish apologized via the scouser's website. How lame. Hiding behind cyberspace. The wording and structure of both "apologies" hints strongly at a "here's what you're gonna say" scenario with highly suspect authorship, probably a PR exec or crisis management mercenary "wonk." Disingenuous at best, and an out and out lie at worst.

And the calls for the abolition of the pre-game handshake are a smokescreen. As long as the logistics demand that teams enter and exit the pitch via the same portal, and the current practice of BOTH teams marching out and lining up on the pitch side by side continues, the handshakes should continue. Players and coaches must be held accountable for poor sportsmanship throughout EVERY intricacy, nuance and phase of their respective contests, especially those fortunate enough to perform at the highest level.

ManUre comes out smelling like a rose the way they've handled everything, including accepting the weak apology, even though Evra is not totally blameless due to his chronically poor behavior. But being a punk is not nearly as detestable as overt racism, and the FA and FIFA should not give Liverpool a pass on this extremely poor attempt at reconciliation and redemption. Their words don't begin to make up for their actions, or lack thereof. They haven't begun to go anywhere nearly far enough to regain any respect they had before these shameless incidents, warrant any forgiveness, or escape some further deserved punishment, which I highly doubt any of the governing bodies have the fortitude to mete out.

Bottom line....Anfield still has a big black eye.

Agree that racist crap has no place in footie - and re Evra: "being a punk is not nearly as detestable as overt racism..." How true, jumpkutz. Evra is a little bit#$, but racist shit like Suarez threw out, is much, much worse.

Liverpool management issued this statement,

"We are extremely disappointed Luis Suarez did not shake hands with Patrice Evra before yesterday's game. The player had told us beforehand that he would, but then chose not to do so.

"He was wrong to mislead us and wrong not to offer his hand to Patrice Evra. He has not only let himself down, but also Kenny Dalglish, his teammates and the Club. It has been made absolutely clear to Luis Suarez that his behaviour was not acceptable.

"Luis Suarez has now apologised for his actions which was the right thing to do. However, all of us have a duty to behave in a responsible manner and we hope that he now understands what is expected of anyone representing Liverpool Football Club."

That's it? What a freaking joke. I am sorry, but Dalglish needs to publicly criticize Suarez and do it so harshly that Suarez sits in a corner and cries. And if Suarez doesn't like it and wants to move to a club that accepts it, those Fascist idiots at Lazio would probably applaud him, then Liverpool should cash in and bring in a player that doesn't go around tossing racist slurs around.

As far as handshakes and such, I am not a fan of all of this pre match stuff. I am old school in the sense that I don't even want players helping other players up. I am a competitive person. This is besides the point though as Suarez shouldn't have looked like he was being treated unfairly the entire match and the club need to come out and criticize him. He needs to realize that racism isn't acceptable and he clearly does not realize this judging by his actions.

Lazio comment = brilliant.

i agree with the shaking hands - why? I played sports up through college and there's nobody's hand I'd shake before the game - after, well that' another story.
