Guzan re-ups

Postby HatterDon » Sun Aug 05, 2012 7:34 pm

I didn't see anything on here about this, but after looking like he was definitely leaving Aston Villa, I saw on Sky Sports News last week that he had signed a new three-year contract with the Villians.

He should be starting for them. Given is deteriorating before our eyes.

I like your positive spin, I only wish I could believe it. Brad has been sold another bill of goods and Lerner doesnt have the guts to stand up for his own, despite sinking hundreds of mills into that wasteland.

Totally shocked when I saw that. Agree that he is better at this point than Given, but not a snowball's chance in hell he'll be between the pipes when the season starts.

Glad to semi eat my words (Given did start the season  ) Guzan was Sky Sports MOTM with a 'top drawer' save in stoppage time to give Villa a point at Newcastle. Who knows how long it will last, but Brad was the smart one to know Lambert would give him a chance to compete for a starting gig in the Prem, which we all know he's capable of.

I hope Guzan siezes the opportunity. He certainly seems to have paid his dues at this point.
